Grape varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinto Cão.
Production characteristics:
- Cima Corgo;
- Shale soil
- 450m average altitude;
- Average vine age: 25 years
Vinification: After careful collection of the grapes in small capacity boxes, the grapes are completely destemmed; this is followed by prolonged alcoholic fermentation (part in lagares with foot treading and part in fermentation vats) with temperature control, followed by spontaneous malo-lactic fermentation.
Internship: 9 months in 500 liter used French oak barrels.Filtration: Cartux + Membrane
Physical and chemical analysis: Alcohol - 13.5%; Total Acidity - 5.5 g/dm3; pH - 3.64
Tasting Notes:
Visual examination: Clear, ruby color;
Olfactory examination: Complexity and elegance; notes of red fruit, wet earth and a slight smokiness;
Taste test: Good structure, with a good attack and a pleasant, persistent finish.
